The Planner Scheduler analyzes, plans, schedules, and releases weekly production requirements for assigned customers or manufacturing lines to meet forecasted demand while minimizing costs and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This role works cross-functionally to mitigate supply challenges and ensure clear communication throughout the supply chain. Success in this position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Data Ninja, Monday.com), and the ability to translate production data into actionable plans.
- Actively participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to ensure supply plans align with current customer demand.
- Attend key cross-functional meetings to confirm capacity, raw material, component, and data accuracy.
- Monitor and adjust supply plans throughout the month; ensure timely ERP updates for any deviations and communicate changes to Sales and Customer Service.
- Identify and resolve issues related to operations, materials, inventory, documentation, replenishment, delivery, or quality performance; initiate corrective actions and maintain stakeholder communication.
- Collaborate across departments to mitigate supply challenges and maintain transparency throughout the supply chain.
- Plan and release optimized weekly production requirements to maximize manufacturing efficiency and meet delivery timelines.
- Partner with Purchasing and Quality to ensure visibility into material requirements and develop mitigation strategies for potential supply risks.
- Ensure accurate planning for new product introductions, discontinuations, and customer launches.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to align daily and weekly production schedules with the master production plan.
- Develop, update, and communicate daily and weekly production schedules in coordination with Operations, Purchasing, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, raw material availability, staffing, or equipment issues.
- Analyze production capacity, lead time, and constraints to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support business operations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or a minimum of three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- APICS certification (CPIM – Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Planning or a related discipline.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, or Food Manufacturing industries is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Data Ninja, Monday.com) and advanced Excel skills.
